New Year, New Plans (2014)

So, 2013 didn't turn out the way I had planned. Fine. Moving on.

I really can't complain, nor should I. I have my wonderful baby boy. My daughter is growing into an enigmatic, though hard-headed, little lady. We lost one of our kitties but gained two new lovable companions.

As for the writing - I may not have finished the novel as intended but I did learn A WHOLE FRICKEN LOT about the business and managed to do a great deal of work on my novel and other new projects.

I think, in retrospect, 2013 was a pretty great year. And I'm looking forward to the next.

Maybe I wasn't as ready as I thought I was... but I made a pretty great start of it and it's only a failure if you give up.


I'm currently gearing myself up to take down The Red Handed Writer website. If anyone was paying attention, they would have noticed I haven't touched it in months (even worse than my author blog, shockingly... at least I post updates here from time to time!) It just became clear that both sites were basically the same thing... me posting updates on my writing, or lack thereof, and I decided that the other website really needs it's own purpose or needs to go away. I have already started taking the pages down (they're still archived but no longer up on the page for access).

I'm trying to get myself organized. I hope once I've gotten my head back on straight and get my new computer (c'mon tax refund! Momma needs a new PC!) I will be back to writing and also posting regularly again.

For now, I'm currently in what I like to call "prep-mode".
Planning, plotting, setting things up. I may not be on for a few weeks while I get things in order.

When I make my come back.... watch out! muhahaha

Okay. No, seriously, I've been naughty and have neglected this project which is something I swore I wouldn't do. 2014 is going to be a good year and the plan is to tackle what I tried in 2013 and this time I intend to succeed.

So I'll say it again:

It's only a failure if you give up.
